As a lifelong video game advocate, twitch streamer and professional videographer, I’ve picked up lots of tricks for keeping your stream on track!

  1. Pick your activity. What are your audience tuning in to see? You could get competitive gaming online or running a boardgame tournament; set up a painting demo or a live sewing workshop; or invite people to bring their a-game to a quiz night. It’s streamer’s choice!
  1. Decide how long your stream will last. Are you going live for an hour or for an epic 24-hour marathon? It can be as long as you like, provided it works for your routine and stamina.
  1. Increase your reach. Don’t go it alone – invite guests! Ask others to join you on the stream and encourage their followers and friends to watch too. Some extra support might be helpful when it comes to moderating and responding to your chat.
  1. Set up your fundraising page. Get this up and running as early as possible. From here, you can tell everyone why you are helping Sense and what fantastic things their donations will do!
  1. Get the team colours. Bring a touch of Sense to your stream. Download our branded overlays, infographics, poster and chat commands to give the cause a boost.
  1. Get your schedule together. Make sure you know what’s going to happen in your stream and when. Changing activities, talking to your audience and even taking breaks will all move smoothly when you have a game plan.
  1. Shout about your stream! You’ll find that even the friends and followers who can’t make it will want to support you and your cause. Check in with your community beforehand for requests and to get people talking!
  1. Tell Sense. We’re excited to hear what everyone’s getting up to. See our contact details below or reach out on socials using #StreamItForSense.
  1. Check once, check twice and triple check your equipment to make sure everything is ready and working for the big day.
  1. Get plenty of rest before your stream. Give yourself the downtime you need so that you can give your audience your best self.
