Sense Holidays

Sense is going on a summer holiday – and you can come too! Join us for an adventure where you’ll make special connections, try new things, have great fun and create lasting memories.

Every summer, children, young people and adults pack their bags for a week of fun, laughter and brand new experiences.

On a Sense Holiday, you might want to take your first dip in the sea or have a go at horse riding. You might seek out some thrills at a theme park or take in some culture at a museum or art gallery. The possibilities are endless.

Whatever you choose to do, our experienced holiday leaders and team of fun and friendly volunteers will be there to support you. Together, we might try things that you hadn’t even thought were possible!

When and where

Sense Holidays take place throughout the summer in stunning spots across England and Wales. Each Sense Holiday lasts five to seven nights.

You’ll stay in accessible, high quality accommodation, including outdoor activity centres, cottages, apartments and glamping pods.

The Sense approach

Each Sense Holiday is led by a skilled and experienced leader, who will work with you and your family, or carers, to plan together a break that best matches your interests and wishes. You will have all the support you need to have a really fun and enjoyable week away.

Your holiday group will include other children, young people or adults who share your interests and who are looking for a similar kind of holiday experience. We hope you'll enjoy meeting new people and making new friends, with lots of laughs along the way.

Our amazing committed and enthusiastic volunteers complete the groups, ensuring every holidaymaker has a minimum of one-to-one support at all times, and more support if needed. All volunteers are carefully checked, including an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS, and are fully prepared for each holiday.

Who Sense Holidays are for

Sense Holidays are for children, young people and adults who are deafblind or have multi-sensory impairments.

The holiday couldn't have been better; it was like he has designed it himself. The leader was utterly brilliant, and a huge thank you to the volunteers. A gold star and a tick from us.

Dylan's adventure

A young boy seated on a blue child's swing, with a yellow bar across the front

Dylan got to go swimming – which is his absolute favourite activity – every day on his Sense Holiday. He also tried Samba drumming, set sail on a boat trip, and even held a snake.

Dylan’s mum told us that his Sense Holiday was so special because it was planned completely around what he wanted.

Because Dylan has a rare condition called CHARGE syndrome, he does not always have the chance to do all the things other children his age do.

But, in a safe and supportive environment supported by specially trained leaders and volunteers, his mum could relax, safe in the knowledge that he was having the time of his life.
