Inclusive seated dance

A seated contemporary dance workshop, that features fun, gentle exercises and easy movements, designed to be accessible for people of all abilities. This video is part two of a two-part series.

This guide is part of our Sense Arts, Sport & Wellbeing programme. This activity can be done at a time that suits you, either in your own space or in an educational setting.

Who is this for?

This is a workshop for people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities and can be enjoyed by anyone.

Why does this make a difference?

This is a wellbeing activity that helps people use their senses to connect with their surroundings, while building confidence and supporting self-expression through dance and movement.

What happens in the video?

Step 1

Set up the room so you have enough space to stretch your arms out to the side and in front of you without hitting anything, and wear something that makes you feel comfortable and able to move freely. You might also want to put a glass of water nearby. .

Step 2

Follow along with Becca’s step-by-step instructions, mobilising all the joints individually, and have fun.
