The Sense College curriculum balances wellbeing with essential life skills and qualifications. 

At Sense College East, we offer three learning pathways: Learning for Life, Foundation Learning and Employability. All three pathways will help you build life skills and become more independent.

 Learning for Life

This pathway offers a person-centred learning and development programme for
young people with complex needs working at the pre-entry level. Students will
follow the Aspire or Take-Off Programme depending on their starting point.

Foundation Learning

On the Foundation Learning Pathway students follow a programme of
personalised targets that support the outcomes of their Education, Health and
Care Plan (EHCP).


Students have the opportunity to complete accredited courses and focused
learning units to support their chosen career, future study and living
aspirations.

All Sense College learners can also get career advice. The Foundation Learning pathway includes opportunities to volunteer and gain work experience.

Employability

Get ready for the world of work with our Employability pathway. This is the right choice for people who already know their career goals. 

Our Employability Pathway can be accessed as a standalone option for
individuals who are ready to
seek work with an employer under a ‘Supported Internship’ model.

You’ll have access to a job coach, who can support you with things like travel arrangements and applying for the Access to Work scheme.
