No one left out of life

Sense's strategy 2019-2022

Our Strategy

Our vision is a world where no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is left out, isolated, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Our mission is to remove barriers to communication so that everyone has the opportunity to live their life to the full.

Over the next three years, we will focus on four key outcomes:

Outcome 1: Children and families get the best possible start.

• Giving more parents and families access to Family Days and events.
• Launching a new national early intervention and play service.
• Expanding the delivery of Sense Holidays and Short Breaks.
• Providing more opportunities for siblings.

Outcome 2: Adults are supported to live and learn at every stage of their lives.

• Investing in the growth of our supported living services.
• Expanding our Sense College provision.
• Supporting more adults to attend Sense Holidays.
• Increasing access to Sense day opportunities.

Outcome 3: Individuals are less lonely and more connected with their communities.

• Expanding the delivery of our ‘buddying’ schemes.
• Creating new volunteering roles to support friendships and communities.
• Delivering a national programme of art, sport and physical activities.
• Making sure all our services and shops are connected to their local communities.

Outcome 4: Society has increased awareness of the impact of our work and is inspired to take action.

• Reaching more people with engaging stories and inspiring them to take action.
• Offering more varied opportunities for people to support us.
• Continuing to campaign nationally and locally, for the rights of people we support.
• Running a series of high-profile engagement campaigns to attract new supporters.

Because though we may all connect differently, we are all connected.
