Volunteer in a Sense Shop

Volunteering in a Sense Shop is a fantastic way to meet people, share your interests and be a part of something really special in your local community.

As one of our Sense Shop volunteers, you'll raise funds and awareness to support all aspects of the work Sense does, in a friendly and sociable team.

The success of our Sense Shops is down to people like you  volunteers who come together to share a huge range of interests, backgrounds, skills and passions.

Putting those talents in to action, our shop teams take roles which suit their interests and experience and together make a big difference to the people we support. Together, we can make sure that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out or unable to fulfill their potential.

"My daughter joined Sense as a volunteer and enjoyed it so much I decided I would do the same. We both found that our time spent helping was extremely enjoyable. We were made to feel both welcome and valued, and managed to pick up new skills along the way!"

Are you good at talking to and connecting with people? Welcome new and regular customers in to the shop and make Sense the place on your local high street where people most want to shop, donate and support.

Are you a creative type? Then help us to design eye-catching window displays to draw in customers!

Do you love reading or watching films? We need you to select, price and display our books and DVDs to make the most of the stock that's donated.

Or do you have a passion for fashion? Dig out vintage and retro designs to hang on our rails and give the shop that cutting edge.

Are you practical and organised? Support our teams to distribute stock, leaflets and other resources, or help with administration in the shop.

We sold a decorative Chinese teapot for £1,426.25, including Gift Aid. Would you have spotted it?
