Summer Sensory Walk - Victoria Recreation Park, Barnet
Join us on a sensory walk around Victoria Recreation Park, Barnet. During the walk, we’ll be engaging each of our senses to connect with our surroundings; from discovering what plants we can smell, exploring how different natural materials feel and what animals we can hear. The walk will follow an accessible route through the park, with opportunities for children to engage at their own pace. It’s a great way to enjoy time outdoors, connect with nature, and spend quality time together as a family.
We will meet families at 11am at the ‘Fairplay Playground’, the inclusive playground at Victoria Recreation Ground. This will allow an opportunity for the children to play while we wait for everyone to arrive. Please arrive as close to the start time as possible as the park can become busy. We will then set off for our walk at 11.15am.
Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for outdoor walking. Please apply sun cream to you and your children, and ensure you bring hats, sun glasses and bring water. Parent and carers must attend the full session with their child.
Who is this for?
This session is for families who are part of our free Connect and Play service, which supports children with complex disabilities aged 0-8 years. If you’re not sure whether this session is for you, please complete our service enquiry form or contact [email protected] to speak with a member of our team.
At least one parent/carer must attend the full session with each child and siblings are also welcome to attend for free. Please book 1 ticket per family, informing us of the number of adults/children that will be attending.
Parking
Parking at Victoria Recreation Ground is available in a car park with a small charge, except for Blue Badge holders who can park for free. There is also some free on-street parking nearby. Our sensory walk will start at the Fairplay Playground (the inclusive playground), which serves as our meeting point.
