Below, you can find a list of service providers, charities, and organisations that specialise in helping blind, deaf or disabled people.

RNIB

The Royal National Institute for the Blind gives blind people the help, support and tools they need to realise their aspirations.

Birmingham University MSI

The University of Birmingham offers learning programmes that support professionals to work more effectively with learners who are deafblind (multi-sensory impaired) and for teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Birmingham City University

Birmingham City University offers a Certificate in Professional Studies (Deafblind Studies), giving professionals the knowledge and skills to offer high quality services.

DBI

Deafblind International is an international not-for-profit membership organization focused on the needs of individuals who are deafblind, their families and the professionals who provide services.

Perkins

The US-based Perkins School for the Blind offers programs and services for children and young adults with multiple disabilities and their families around the world. It also supports educators, professionals and researchers by focusing on innovation and excellence in educational services, accessibility and professional development.

NatSIP

NatSIP, the National Sensory Impairment Partnership is a partnership of organisations working together to improve outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairment. NatSIP also has a searchable database where people can commission independent MSI teachers.

Seashell Trust

Seashell supports children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities, and additional communication needs from across the UK. They provide education, care, and support for people aged from 2 to 25 years at Cheadle Hulme, near Manchester.

NDCS

The National Deaf Children’s Society helps deaf children communicate.

RSBC

The Royal Society for Blind Children supports blind and partially sighted children and young people, and their families.
