Sense Awards Judge: Ruben Reuter

Ruben is an actor, broadcast journalist and presenter from Yorkshire.

He featured in the documentary My Life: Breaking Free (CBBC) before beginning his presenting career as a reporter for Newsround (CBBC). Since then, he has presented various reports for Channel 4 News and co‑presented the critically acclaimed documentary Disability & Abortion: The Hardest Choice (Channel 4) with Ruth Madeley. The documentary has been nominated for multiple awards, including Best Science Documentary at the Grierson Trust UK Documentary Awards in 2023.

For his broadcast journalism work, Ruben has been nominated for New Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards, Young Journalist of the Year (National) at the Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Awards, and Young Journalist of the Year at the London Press Club Awards.

Ruben’s acting credits include Pushers (Channel 4), The Dumping Ground (CBBC), The Syndicate (BBC One), The Puppet Asylum (Sky Arts), Mobility (BBC Three) and Lord of the Flies (Chichester Festival Theatre).

In addition to acting and presenting, Ruben trains with Ability Dance at Northern Ballet in Leeds.

I was so pleased and proud to be asked to judge the Sense awards. I am really excited to learn all about the amazing nominees and what  they’ve been up to.
