Exercise through dance with cool down

Move your body, get fit and learn how to dance along to Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head, with a quick warm up and a cool-down session. Remember to take things at your own speed, and rest whenever you need to.

This guide is part of our Sense Arts, Sport & Wellbeing programme. This activity can be done at a time that suits you, either in your own space or in an educational setting.

Who is this for?

This is a workshop for people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities and can be enjoyed by anyone.

Why does this make a difference?

This is a sports activity that helps people use their senses to connect with their surroundings, exploring touch by exploring mindfulness, relaxation and movements, supporting self-expression, individuality and understanding.

What happens in the video?

Step 1

Begin learning the dance routine, making your palms open and close like flashing lights. Follow along with the teacher’s instructions on clapping, moving to the beat, turning on the spot and trying to stay in time!

Step 2

To cool down, follow the teacher’s advice, moving slowly, gently swaying your arms, wiggling your fingers and brushing your face. Keep a flat back when doing any forward folds.
