Sense Ambassadors: Bob and Amelia

A man and woman waving in front of a London Marathon sign.

Bob Smith is a Sense legend. Aged 80, this year he ran his 21st London Marathon in a row to fundraise for Sense. Bob is a retired primary school headteacher and is particularly proud that the £35,000 he’s raised so far helps us to support disabled children. Incredibly dedicated to our charity, Bob gets up at 5am every day to train and has recruited his granddaughter, Amelia, as a Sense marathon runner too.

Bob says: “I’ve visited Sense centres and seen the wonderful work this charity does to help disabled children to try new things, learn skills and make friends. Knowing I’m actually helping youngsters there always motivates me to keep on running. I’m proud to support Sense and to become an ambassador.”

I am so proud of my grandad and of everything he has done to support this incredible charity. He’s an inspiration and I’m honoured to now be running London Marathons alongside him as a Sense ambassador.
