Sense Emergency Coronavirus Appeal 2020
Will you help children who are deafblind during this crisis? Just £25 could help a Children and Family Support Worker provide support over the phone.
As lockdown restrictions loosen around the UK many of us are left feeling uncertain about what the future holds. We've all had to adapt, change and adjust to a new normal in these unprecedented times.
The children and families that Sense supports typically rely on face-to face support, so we can help them use all of their senses, including residual vision and hearing, touch, taste and smell to explore the world. Suddenly, meeting families in person wasn't possible and all Sense Family Centres, Shops and Holidays were closed.
That’s why you are so vital. Supporters like you help make sure that children who are deafblind, and their families, aren’t left without advice and expertise at this difficult time. But in order to continue to be there in the weeks and months to come, we need your help.
Please, will you give an urgent gift today to help support children who are deafblind during the coronavirus crisis? A gift of £25, for example, could help a highly skilled Children and Family Support Worker provide support over the phone – but whatever you feel able to give is much needed, and would be very greatly appreciated.
Children who are deafblind or have complex disabilities often have a variety of medical conditions, making this a worrying time when families will need support more than ever
As the country begins to re-open, many of the children we support will still have to remain in isolation because they are at risk
Our shops have been closed for a couple of weeks, fundraising events have been cancelled, leaving us with an unexpected shortfall in income
We are adapting to offer services over the phone and online to continue to be there for families
We’re expecting more families than ever to get in touch as they seek advice and support navigating this new environment.
This is a time for everyone to come together to support those members of our community who most need help. Anything you can give will make a huge difference. Thank you.
We’re grateful for any gift you feel able to give, to help us support children who are deafblind, and their families, as they deal with the impact of coronavirus. Thank you so much for being with us through these challenging times.
