Toy and Tech Pilot Project | Birmingham, 3yrs+

Play isn’t just fun – it’s super important for a child’s development too! We want to help families access the best resources and tools to enhance their play. Our Toy and Tech pilot project offers families the chance to borrow a free resource bundle to use at home so you can discover new ways to form connections and support your child's development, outside of Sense sessions.

Our specialist resource bundles include a range of toys and technical equipment to offer different sensory stimulation so you can explore what works best for you and your child. Items per bundle may vary and may include switch adapted instruments and lights, Tonies Toniebox, sensory building blocks, a night sky projector, talking tiles and tactile toys. Please note that some items will require electricity which will be the responsibility of the user. These items are for children aged 3 years and over.

If you have any questions regarding the resources included, please contact [email protected].

How it works

To join the project your child must already be registered with our Connect and Play service and be aged between 3-8yrs. You must also adhere to the guidance detailed in our Toy and Tech agreement. Families will be provided with a resource bundle which they will be able to use at home for approximately eight weeks. Families will be required to collect and return their resource bundle in -person and will be responsible for transporting the kit to and from home.

This is a pilot project to help us learn more about how we can best support families. Alongside accessing and testing out the resources, families will also be required to complete evaluation surveys throughout the loan period and attend a final focus group. To participate in the project, you must be able to attend all of the key dates below, unless listed as optional.

Key dates
