4th – 6th October 2019
A great break for young siblings and carers aged 5-15
If you're aged 5-15 and have a brother, sister or parent with a disability, this weekend of adventure is for you.
This is an awesome chance to kick back, have fun, be adventurous and creative, and make new friends.
There's a whole range of adventure activities you can do including canoeing, mountain biking, treetop trail and aeroball.
You'll also get a chance to unleash your imagination with science activities including sherbet and candyfloss making, slime making, fire, chemical reactions, and more.
In the evening you'll get to play in the games room, watch a film in the cinema and take part in some sporting challenges.
The final activity programme will be determined on the availability of activities, ages and interests of the group.
Accommodation is bunk beds in multi-bedded rooms. You’ll be sharing a room with people the same gender and a similar age to you.
Sharing with old and new friends is all part of the experience and leaders will be sleeping in separate rooms on the same corridor.
Indoor accommodation is locked at night with PGL staff and Sense leaders on hand.
All meals are served cafeteria style, and there’s plenty of choice. If you have any requirements with your diet, you can tell us in your application form.
Luggage is limited to one case or bag. Much of the weekend is outside so prepare for all weathers.
You'll need;
If you don't have your own sleeping bag, or other items, please tell us in the form or over the phone so we can help.
We really recommend you don't bring mobile phones or other valuables. It’s also advised you bring roll-on deodorants rather than spray cans which can set off fire alarms.
Sense is asking for a £100 contribution to the cost of each place. You'll only be asked to pay if your application is successful.
£100 includes all activities, two nights accommodation and all meals. This does not cover the cost of travel.
There is a tuck shop available, and we suggest you bring between £5 and £10 pocket money for soft drinks, snacks, and souvenirs.
We have a small bursary to support families who are not able to make this contribution. Please get in touch to discuss this further.
The weekend takes place on Friday 4th October to Sunday 6th October at PGL, Swindon.
