Our Programme

A unique and diverse programme of inclusive arts, events, performances and learning that puts people with complex disabilities at the forefront of artistic excellence.

To welcome art-makers and audiences alike we offer a unique and diverse programme of inclusive arts, events, performances and learning that puts people with complex disabilities at the forefront of artistic excellence.

We offer a wide range of inclusive activities to both our Sense services and the local community – including children, young people and their families, older people’s groups and vulnerable adults.

Our ambition is to create high standards of quality for Arts in Care through our innovative spaces, programme and digital engagement.

Take a look at our current Sense Arts activities programme.

Sense truly understands that the arts should be for everyone. The way they work and the venue just makes everything accessible.

Programme overview

Visual arts

Our visual arts programme combines personalised studio practice, with a mix of group sessions and one-to-one workshops using a wide variety of disciplines. Artists and art-makers share experiences and learn from each other in a two-way exchange – sharing ideas and ways to access art making.

We exhibit work created by Sense art-makers, local artists, disabled artists and artists working in sensory mediums. Our exhibitions are open to the public all year round.

Music

Our music programme fuses traditional music making and new technologies to open up access to everyone. We use technology to break down barriers and help people to make, feel and experience sound in new ways.

Performance

Our unique dance and theatre programme pushes aesthetic boundaries. Improvisation and devising are at the core of our in-depth working practices and everyone has access to, and ownership of, the artistic process.
