Box Hill Super Climb Terms & Conditions

The Event

  • By signing up to an event you are agreeing to participate in this event at your own risk. You recognise and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury and you voluntarily and knowingly agree to assume the full risk of any injury, damages or loss that you may sustain as a result of participating.
  • By entering you understand the event is not a race; it is a personal challenge.
  • You agree to obey by the highway code and be conscientious towards other cyclists.
  • You must ride in a manner which is safe for yourself and others.
  • You understand you are responsible for ensuring your bike is road worthy, properly maintained, with adequate brakes and equipped to ride safely.
  • You will wear a helmet at all times when cycling and will attend with spares and tools in case you have a mechanical – we will endeavour to help where we can.
  • By entering the event you agree that no liability shall attach to the event organisers, marshals or volunteers, in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by yourself in or by reason of the event. 
  • To the best of your knowledge, your general state of health and fitness is good, and you take full responsibility for your training.
  • If you have any concerns of a medical nature then you must consult your GP about your participation before committing to the event.
  • It is not permitted to be under the influence of are consume alcohol or drugs before and during the challenge.
  • You confirm that you will be the minimum age required to take part in the event. In order to take part in Box Hill Super Climb, you must be 18 years of age on Sunday 22nd September 2024. Individuals aged 16-17 may take part, but only when accompanied by a parent or guardian and must submit a consent form completed by their parent/guardian to [email protected] before the event.
  • You are responsible for arranging travel, accommodation and other logistics for your event where needed. Sense is unable to provide support for these logistics. There will be parking available at the event.
  • In the unlikely chance that the event is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or matters outside Sense’s control, the organiser will endeavour to rearrange the event on a new date. Should this be impossible, or participants are unable to attend on the new date, a refund of the registration payment will be offered.


  • By registering for this event, you commit to raising the minimum sponsorship of £350 for Sense. If you do not meet the minimum sponsorship, you may choose to make up the balance yourself. If Sense doesn’t receive the minimum sponsorship amount, we reserve the right to cancel your participation in the event.
  • Your registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable and includes VAT.  
  • Your full minimum sponsorship amount must be paid to Sense within 1 month of the event date.  
  • You agree to raise all money using legal methods and complying with the advice given in the fundraising resources hub on our website. 
  • Gift Aid is not included in your minimum sponsorship. The money raised from Gift Aid is a valuable bonus for Sense.  
  • If you do not take part in the event, any sponsorship money raised will be treated as donations unless your sponsors contact [email protected] directly for a refund.  
  • All funds raised for Sense through the event will be made payable to Sense.

Storing Data

  • You agree to Sense storing the information that you provided on our database. Please see our privacy policy for details.  
  • You give Sense permission to use any photographs or videos taken of you at this event, to raise awareness or money for Sense’s work with disabled people.  

Deferral & Transfers Policy

  • If you are unable to take part in the event, you’re able to transfer your entry to a nominated rider of your choice or defer your entry to the following year or potentially to another Sense event – discussed on a case by case basis with the participant. Please email [email protected] to discuss.
  • You can only defer your place once, if you wish to take part in the event again after already having deferred once, you will need to apply again and agree to raising the full target and paying the registration fee again for the relevant year’s event.
  • You will need to re-register for your deferred place using the relevant form on our website, we will be in touch with details on how to do this.
