Welfare benefits

Sense wants the benefits system to be accessible to deafblind people and provide deafblind people with financial support they need.

We campaign fair welfare benefits system, which provides deafblind people with financial support they need.

We believe deafblind people should get financial support to pay for extra costs of their disability and to enable them to live independently. The benefits system should be accessible and easy to navigate.

What we do

We listen to deafblind people and their families and monitor their experience of claiming benefits.  We work with the DWP, Atos and Capita and Maximus bring problems to their attention. We campaign and lobby MPs together with other charities as part of the Disability Benefits Consortium to make the system more accessible and fair.
