As well as our national volunteering opportunities around the country to volunteer in a Sense shop, as a fundraising volunteer in your local community and on our national holidays and short breaks, we have roles available in our local offices and services. East

Family Day volunteer, Peterborough

We are looking for patient, caring and fun loving volunteers to help deafblind children and their families enjoy play activities at regular Family Days in Peterborough. This is a great opportunity to gain experience of working with deafblind children and their families, meet new people and make a real difference to the people who use our services. Get in touch

London and South-East

Volunteer buddy, Tower Hamlets, East London

We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to support children and young people with disabilities to access activities in their free time through one-to-one and group buddying in Tower Hamlets, East London. Find out more

Online retail volunteer, Crayford

We are looking for online retail volunteers to support our eBay and Amazon team in Crayford, Kent to sort, identify and process books, antiques and clothing. A range of days and hours are available from Monday to Friday. Get in touch

Warehouse volunteer, Crayford

As a warehouse volunteer, you will be involved in a very important warehouse operation; to process new goods such as menswear, children's wear and ladies' accessories, in readiness for despatch to our many Sense shops. 

Working to detailed allocation lists, you will prepare the stock and process it according to those lists. You will work closely with the transport department, helping to correctly store the stock until it is lorry loaded for despatch. You may also engage in stock deliveries. 

This is an essential role that requires an eye for detail and a 'can do' approach. Once stock has arrived safely at the Sense shops, the sales of it will go towards supporting Sense. Your contribution will have been a leading part in that. Get in touch 

Touchbase South East volunteer, North London

We are developing volunteering opportunities at our centre in Barnet, North London which may include volunteering on our family days, helping on our centre’s allotment and volunteering alongside deafblind people in our new café. Most of these opportunities are from Monday – Friday. Get in touch

Activity Session volunteer, West London

We have regular textile art activities for older people with a sensory impairment in Hounslow which take place during the week, and we are looking for friendly and creative volunteers to support the older people to get involved in the activities. Get in touch

 

South-West

Café 55 volunteer, Exeter

We are looking for volunteers to help run our Café 55 in central Exeter. Join a friendly, sociable team and help out with preparing food, taking orders, serving customers and keeping the café a clean and welcoming environment for all. Café 55 is open Monday to Saturday with opportunities to volunteer for a full or half day. Get in touch

Volunteer Playworker, Bristol

We are looking for patient, caring and fun loving volunteers to help Sense staff support deafblind children and their families to enjoy play activities on Wednesday afternoons and Fridays.

Summer Playscheme, Bristol

We are looking for patient, caring and fun loving volunteers to help Sense staff support deafblind children and their families Join in our Woodside Family Centre Summer PlayScheme this summer to bring some extra fun to children and young people who are deafblind or have a multi-sensory impairment, on 26 & 27 July and 1 - 3 August.
You can volunteer for one or more days!

GOT group volunteer, Cornwall

In Cornwall, we’re looking for volunteers to support young people to take part in fun, local activities organised by the Sense Get Out There group which helps young people to come together to "get out there" and take part in the same fun activities as other teenagers. Volunteers work alongside the young people to enable them to get the most out of each activity and new experience. Get in touch

 

Wales

Activity Session volunteer, Caerphilly

We’re looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to support recreational and education activities for deafblind adults taking place at our Touchbase Cymru centre during the week. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and work with people with complex communication needs. Get in touch

 

West Midlands

GOT group volunteer, Warwickshire

We’re looking for volunteers to support young people to take part in fun, local activities at the school holidays and weekends organised by the Sense Get Out There group in Warwickshire. Volunteers work alongside the young people to enable them to get the most out of each activity and new experience. Get in touch

Cycling Volunteer, Solihull, Birmingham

Sense is currently running an adapted cycling session in partnership with Solihull Active and Wheels for All, every Wednesday from 10.30 am – 1.30 pm.  Participants can try a range of adapted bikes including trikes, hand-pedaled bikes, tandems and bikes for those using wheelchairs.  Volunteers support the Lead Instructor with this weekly cycling session at a leisure centre in Solihull. Touchbase Pears volunteer, Birmingham
