About TouchBase Pears
TouchBase Pears is being built in the heart of Birmingham, in the Selly Oak area. It will be a special place that the whole community is welcome to visit and use, with community spaces, an art gallery, gardens and a community café. TouchBase Pears will be a thriving, bustling hub in a key development area of this great city.
It will be an amazing asset for the whole community to use and enjoy. But TouchBase Pears’s primary purpose is as a location where Sense can deliver its support services for people who are deafblind, have sensory impairments or complex needs, to enjoy more independent lives. People who use Sense services will see TouchBase Pears as a national centre, with the best facilities.
This may be an exceptional building in Selly Oak, but people from across Birmingham, the whole of the West Midlands, and beyond, will be able to visit, and benefit from the work that goes on there. TouchBase Pears will be a national flagship service for Sense.
A building for everyone
TouchBase Pears is for everyone. Think of it as your community drop-in, with rooms where you can hold meetings, contributing in your way to Selly Oak’s vibrant community life. Pop along for a coffee on a Saturday morning and take a look at the new artwork created by disabled people. Or why not volunteer to staff the charity shop that’ll be on the premises?
We look forward to welcoming you to TouchBase Pears.
