Sense Centre Wakefield (Rodney Clark Resource Centre)
This Sense centre has been designed to meet the sensory and mobility needs of the deafblind people who use it.
Providing a weekday service, the specialised environment is filled with colour and texture contrasts and has wheelchair access.
It is a base and venue where those with sight and hearing impairments and their families can access the local community, or meet to chat or take part in specific developmental activities and events.
Sense Centre Wakefield is also where specialist assessments of communication, vision, hearing, mobility and behaviour take place.
Through the Centre’s outreach programme, deafblind people can be supported in their own homes and community.
With our person-centred approach we try to ensure that deafblind people are offered specialist support to enable them to make and act on choices that are important to them.
