TouchBase South East facilities - conference room, sensory room, hydropool

TouchBase South East is a fantastic venue for special events and parties, and can be used for a range of activities. The centre is purpose-built, fully accessible and designed for people with disabilities.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include:

  • A hydrotherapy pool, providing a warm, safe environment where you can relax in comfort
  • A multi-sensory room, offering a stimulating sensory experience where you control the lighting, music and sensations
  • A fully equipped meeting room, conference room, gymnasium, and modern café space
  • Fully equipped changing suites that meet Changing Places standards

Charities, clubs and businesses can use the facilities to meet, socialise and hold events

We also provide a range of additional services, which include catering for meetings, parties and conferences, and free Wi-Fi throughout the centre.

Exeter office

Providence Court, Exeter

Our Sense building, Providence Court, in central Exeter has been designed to meet the sensory and mobility needs of the deafblind people who use it.  The building is colourful, has texture and colour contrasts and is fully accessible for all.  It has a variety of rooms and areas with flexible hiring arrangements for days and evenings on an hourly or daily basis.

Activity rooms

The main room includes a stage area, a sensory room and a therapy room. 

The fully equipped sensory room has soft furnishings, sensory items and various lighting options plus the use of a mobile sensory trolley that includes a DVD player, projector and laser facilities.

The therapy room has a massage bench and soft lighting plus a CD player. 

Training room

The training room can comfortably seat up to 20 delegates in flexible boardroom or theatre-style layouts.

Resources such as an induction loop, flipcharts, IT equipment and projectors are provided. Lunches can also be provided on request in advance.

There are kitchen facilities to make drinks and accessible toilets. There is also a comfortable break out area and a rooftop sensory garden. 

Café 55

Café 55 is a bright and cheerful café that is open to the general public from 10am to 4pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

It is run by deafblind and disabled people and other volunteers from the local community. Café 55 offers people the opportunity to gain catering experience which can potentially lead to employment.

The café serves a varied menu of reasonably priced cakes, snacks, sandwiches, soup and refreshments as well as a takeaway service.

Currently youth groups and charities meet here on a regular basis enjoying our safe and secure environment.

The café is fully wheelchair accessible, and also has disabled toilets, a children’s area and free wi-fi.
