Older People's Day: With a little help and my friends
Older People’s Day is on 1st October every year. Watch our video about how, with the right support, older people with sight and hearing loss can still enjoy life:
The main aim for the day is to be a celebration of the achievements and contributions that older people make to our society and the economy. Older People’s Day supports the campaign to challenge negative attitudes and outdated stereotypes.
Sense is supporting Older People’s Day because we want to see older people with hearing and sight loss enjoy life. If you know someone who can no longer see and hear as well as they used to please download our free booklet Enjoy Life to find out more.
If you work with older people you will work with people with dual sensory loss. You just might not be aware of what you can do to support them more effectively. Download our free materials and find out more.
Remember, older people with hearing and sight are still full of life. Make sure they live that life to the full.
