Julie has a multi-faceted career as an accomplished actress and TV presenter, an award-winning author and travel writer, a leading voice-over artist and a popular public speaker and events host.
As an actress, Julie's career has spanned over forty years of prestigious theatre and television, including several appearances in the West End and five years with The Royal Shakespeare Company. Her long list of TV credits include Casualty, Taggart, Holby City, The Bill, First Born, Doctors and September Song, but is probably best known for her work in Brookside, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. She is also responsible for putting the 'Pop' in the Birds Eye Peas commercials, and her distinctive voice has made her one of the country's top voice-over artists.
Julie brought her warmth and humour to The Alan Titchmarsh Show as resident relationships expert for three years. She has been a guest presenter on Loose Women and The Wright Stuff and regularly reviewed the papers on The Steve Allen Show for LBC. Other presenting credits include This Morning where she was guest co-presenter; gardening series Turf Wars; collectables series Bootsale Challenge, and Cruise Today for the Travel Channel.
As a columnist, Julie regularly writes about travel and lifestyle for the Mail on Sunday and The Daily Telegraph and she is Contributing Editor for Cruise International magazine. She also has a travel column in Magnet magazine and a double-page spread in Crafts Beautiful, which she writes with her business partner, Wendy Turner Webster.
Julie and Wendy own Good Turn Productions and last year they co-produced and co-presented their first venture, Crafty Beggars, which was shown on Discovery’s TLC. Their documentary Wendy and Julie’s Monkey Business is currently airing on Community Channel, and they are about to make two further follow-up series, Crafty Beggars In The House and Monkey Mansion.
Julie also gives talks on a wide range of subjects - from a memory makeover to collecting teddy bears! She is an outstanding host for corporate events and award ceremonies and is very proud to have been honoured by the Royal Television Society with the Television Personality of the Year Award.
We are delighted that Julie will be co-presenting at the Sense Awards on Monday 7 December in London.
