Sports coaches and instructors play a vital role in ensuring people with sight and hearing loss can access sport and physical activity.

Over the past 18 months, Sense has developed a wide range of activities. During this period, Sense has worked with some fantastic sports coaches who delivered these sessions.

As part of our Deafblind Active project, Sense produced this instructional video for sports coaches and instructors, to give them more confidence when working with deafblind people.

In this video you’ll meet a range of instructors and coaches that Sense has been working with. They share some of their top tips, and advise on how sports coaches can make sports sessions more inclusive for deafblind people.

Sense’s National Sport Manager, Ian Carpenter said:

“Offering training and advise to sports coaches has been a key aspect of our Deafblind Active project and has enabled more people to access quality meaningful sports activities. We’re really excited to be launching this video.

I believe that the video, along with our live training courses, will give coaches more knowledge and confidence to provide activities for deafblind people.”
