Clinical assessments

With the nature of sensory impairments, individuals may have yearly appointments with clinicians to assess their vision and in some cases, their hearing and/or balance as well.

This information aims to support individuals, particularly those whom are newly diagnosed, to give them a brief overview of the steps involved in each of the commonly-used assessments for vision, hearing and balance.

However, this information can also be useful for family members, carers and friends that would like to support an individual during these clinical assessments.

Staff working in related charities and support groups may also find this information useful in answering any queries about the steps involved during a particular clinical assessment.

If you have any queries or would like more information please contact the Sense Research team at research@sense.org.uk
