Record-breaking Polar Explorer
"Challenges are an important part of life's tapestry and are ultimately what make life interesting. You only have one life - make the most of it. So I’m really pleased to be supporting the 2013 Sense Ridgewalk – an incredible walking challenge across Oxfordshire and Wiltshire which will need you to dig deep to complete a route of up to 52 miles, along the oldest road in Britain. Along the way you’ll be raising vital funds for Sense, the charity that supports and campaigns for the 250,000 children and adults in the UK who are deafblind.
"I am a record-breaking polar explorer and public speaker who has organised, led and taken part in five major polar expeditions – but even I can see that this is going to be a tough challenge! I encourage you to sign up now for the 2013 Ridgewalk to make sure you have time to prepare properly for it. The more work you put in before the event, the easier and less painful it will be on the day, so sign up now to get involved in this life changing experience."
Ann completed the Sense Ridgewalk 2013 with her intrepid all-female team in well under 24 hours - drawing on all of her polar expedition experiences to get through one of the toughest challenges that Sense offer. She spoke to us after the event over a well-earned breakfast!
'It was great to support your event and learn more about the wonderful things you do. Two members of my team have never completed a challenge like that and I think it has changed their lives. Both found it extremely difficult but didn't give up, dug deep and now have a new sense of what can be achieved by almost anyone."
