We’ll rise to the challenge in 2022 and achieve our ambitious aims

Richard, our chief executive, looks to the year ahead and previews what 2022 has in store.

Last year, we supported more than 14,000 people.

I’m proud of the resilience, determination and creativity everyone in the Sense family has demonstrated to adapt our services and overcome the challenges of the pandemic.

Yet, we know that many people with complex disabilities are still missing out on vital support. So this year, we will go further and reach more people wherever they are.

Our strategy sets out that by 2026, we aim to support ten times more people.

Whether that’s through our online befriending service Sense Virtual Buddies, welcoming people into our residential services, or by reaching more people through the information on our website, 2022 will be a year that we open our arms so more people can join the Sense family.

With the passion and commitment of our outstanding staff – and your support – we will achieve our ambitious aims.

The coming year will challenge us to stay connected. Covid-19 is still in the mix, which will no doubt continue to make things difficult. And it’ll be important to look after our mental health and make sure we’re all keeping well – something I’m particularly focussed on as we start this year.

But I, for one, have no doubt that all of us who are part of the Sense family – whether as a colleague, member, volunteer or supporter, will continue to rise to that challenge.

Thank you for supporting us – and here’s to a happy, healthy new year.
