Sense is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind

Objects of reference

Some deafblind people who have profound difficulties in communicating, learn to use objects to symbolise a particular significant activity. For example, a towel may indicate swimming, or a fork may be used to show that it is lunchtime.

This method allows people who are deafblind to make choices, and enables others to let them know what is planned.
