Volunteering on a Sense holiday

Pukul and Terry at the butterfly house Volunteer applications for the 2012 Sense Holidays are now open! On this page you’ll find our information booklet, full details of the holidays, a guide on how to apply, and the application form itself.

Our 26 summer holidays take place in July and August throughout England and Wales. Accommodation ranges from outdoor activity centres to cottages, farms and barns, to villas and even barges!

Each holiday is planned around the needs and interests of holidaymakers. Activities could include swimming, horse-riding, visits to local attractions, canoeing, dry slope skiing, meals out, nights in the pub – the possibilities are endless!

Our volunteers are also involved in holidays for older people and on events for deafblind people and families at other times throughout the year.

Volunteering for Sense is a great way to meet people, try new challenges, explore new ways of communicating and visit new places, all while experiencing a huge sense of achievement.

With the help of volunteers like you, Sense holidays give deafblind people the chance to get away from it all, try new things and have a lot of fun! They also give families a much needed break from the often demanding work of supporting a deafblind person.

“The holiday was not only great fun but one of the most rewarding things I have ever done!”
