Penrose Financial has supported Sense for over two years. Initially support was given through volunteering and the support and participation in our City events, which included the Sense City Ice Skate and Sense in the City Big Quiz. This support has since grown to include support through a variety of other methods, namely use of their PR expertise in helping Sense plan and promote deafblind awareness week, they also promoted Sense to all their customers by allotting Sense the entire back page of their Newsletter.
More recently, Penrose trialled a new fundraising idea for Sense called ‘Payback’. They added a special Christmas message about Sense to all of their invoices sent out at the end of November. Furthermore, as an incentive for prompt payment Penrose promised to donate one per cent of the value of every invoice settled before the end of December.
“We were astonished by the response.” Said Petrina Day, Finance and Operations Manager at Penrose, “Over 70 per cent of our clients paid their invoices within 30 days. We got some incredible feedback from them telling us that they thought the idea was inspiring and that more companies should do it.”
All-in-all the Christmas trial of ‘Payback’ raised over £1800. This, coupled with the fundraising efforts of Penrose staff which included setting up a Santa’s grotto in the Directors office meant that their Christmas activities raised £3,411 for Sense. Now that’s Christmas Spirit!
