Volunteer in a Sense shop

Sense shops are always in need of generous people who can spare some of their free time to help out. Volunteers can try their hands at a variety of tasks, but often find fulfilment in being the best at at what they do within a specific department which they have taken responsibility for. Tasks in a support role at a Sense shop might include the following, these are just brief summaries of each role:

Customer Support - working with and helping customers who come into the shop.

Donor Support - Meeting and greeting donors, answering queries about what we accept and how to donate to Sense.

Merchandisers - Creating high impact window and internal displays.

Qualified Electricians - To test and record the suitability of donated electrical goods for resale.

Computer Operators - Assisting with the listing of donations for sale online and carrying out online research.

Cash Register Operators - Providing customers with a friendly and efficient service to pay for goods.

Garment Sorters - Sorting donated garments by quality and condition.

Antique, book and music Sorters - Sorting donations and ensuring that the full resale value of every item is maximised.

Steamer Operators - Working with garments to display them at their best.

Cleaners - Ensuring that the shop looks its best at all times.

Wood workers - Assisting with the assembly of flat pack furniture and ensuring the suitability of furniture for resale.
