Sense holidays are for people of all ages who are deafblind or who have either a visual or hearing impairment plus additional difficulties, like a physical or learning disability.
Sense has been organising holidays for over 30 years, and we know from what holidaymakers and their families tell us, that holidays have a huge impact on both the holidaymakers but also on you as volunteers.
Over three quarters of people who volunteered on a Sense holiday said that they had developed significant friendships and/or relationships as a result of volunteering on a Sense holiday.
Each holiday is individually planned around the needs and interests of the holidaymakers, but activities could include swimming, horse-riding, visits to local attractions, canoeing, dry-slope skiing, meals out, nights in the pub – the possibilities are endless!
The holidays last a week and take place throughout the summer in England and Wales. Accommodation ranges from outdoor activity centres, to cottages, farms and barns, to villas and even barges. You'll be fully prepared and you don't have to pay to volunteer (though you may need to pay for travel expenses). Holidays are residential and have either a Friday or Saturday start.
