Community fundraising in action
Camden Council employees and Camden businesses really got behind the campaign to support Sense. Our employees really embraced the campaign by helping to raise awareness, to learn about the needs of deafblind people, particularly the needs of older deafblind people and had lots of fun fundraising too.
Councillor Dawn Somper
Councillor Dawn Somper chose to support Sense in her Mayoral year 2007 / 2008. Camden Council departments and employees engaged with the cause straight away. Information relevant to older deafblind residents and their families was disseminated through libraries and other information points. The partnership raised almost £30,000.
Camden Council employees really stood out with their fabulous fundraising efforts including the 5K Your Way fun run in Regents Park, an abseil down Camden Town Hall, which Councillor Somper also took part in, and many other celebrations including Christmas Bingo.
