Donate to Sense and help deafblind children like Dylan

Deafblind baby, DylanDylan was born with a rare condition called CHARGE Syndrome that badly damaged his eyesight and hearing, making learning to communicate (and play) an enormous challenge.

With the right support children with CHARGE can learn to communicate in a number of different ways. This includes using sign language, object cues and objects of reference (where an object represents a word or activity), body language, gesture, touch and use of computer technology, when they are older.

You can read more about Dylan here in this letter from his Mum Emma (pdf, 642kb).

Dylan was featured in this year’s summer appeal, which tells the true story of how Jenny, a Sense specialist worker, has helped him enjoy childhood experiences like play time using a simple piece of equipment called a resonance board.

If you would like to help a little boy like Dylan fulfil his potential please call the donation hotline on 0845 127 0067 or donate online.
