The library is home to over 6,000 items relating to deafblindness and associated disabilities, including books, articles, DVDs, videos and CD - ROMs. The library is available to Sense staff and Sense members. Q. How do I find items in the library?
A: You can search the full library catalogue online.
Q. I have not used the library before, what information do I need to provide to start borrowing?
A. The first time you borrow from the library we will need the following information:
- Name
- Postal address
- Contact telephone or textphone number
- A contact email address would also be useful but is not essential.
Q. How do I borrow items from the library?
A. Once you have identified what you would like to borrow from the online search facility you can simply email the title or titles to info@sense.org.uk. Alternatively you can phone or textphone us on 0845 127 0066
If what you have requested is available then we will aim to post the title(s) to you within 24 hours.
Q. How does the postal loan system work?
A. The library covers the cost of posting items out to borrowers but it is the responsibility of the borrower to meet the cost of the return postage and to ensure that items are returned in good condition by the due date given at the time of the loan.

Q. How long can I borrow library items for?
A. The standard loan period is six weeks although on rare occasions it may be necessary to offer a shorter loan period. You will be informed of the date that items are due to be returned at the time of arranging the loan. There is no financial penalty for returning items late however returning items late persistently may result in a borrower losing the right to use the library.
