2 September 2011
Our fourth annual Dragon Boat Race was held last night at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre. This year was the first time it was a joint event for Sense and Sense International.
Eleven teams from a range of our corporate partners participated, with teams getting into the spirit of the event by competing in fancy dress. Companies taking part included KPMG, Iron Mountain, Thames River, Lubbock Fine, Heidrick & Struggles, Hermes and Advent. All teams took place in a series of heats with the fastest four teams going through to the final. The event was very competitive and there were some very close results.
The eventual winners were Iron Mountain dressed as Smurfs. On the day of the Dragon Boat Event, Iron Mountain also launched their Charity of the Year partnership with Sense and Sense International.
Teams enjoyed the camaraderie, competitive element and the chance to socialise with colleagues with a bbq and bar after the event.
“A selection of our charity partners took part in the Dragon boat race, which was a great way to kick off us working together. The Smurfs did us proud by winning the event and leading the way for the rest of our team. Roll on the Sense in the City Quiz in November!”
