On Wednesday 11 November, longstanding corporate supporter of Sense, Lombard, went into battle... In a repeat of last year's hugely successful event - Battleshops - four teams took over four Sense charity shops in the Midlands area in a unique fundraising showdown.
With 60 participants, Lombard financiers swapped their laptops for shop tills in a bid to make the most cash on the day in this Apprentice-style competition.
As if that wasn’t enough, some teams undertook several other fundraising events over the preceding month, including a parachute jump, a rock concert, a sponsored swim and a team climb of Snowdon.
All the hard work and entrepreneurial skills of Lombard paid off in the last month they have raised over £30,000 for Sense. This is a phenonemenal contribution from our friends at Lombard.
Battleshops team leader, Nick Tabiner, Sales Director, Lombard, said:
“Lombard employees were so enthusiastic about Battleshops and have really enjoyed showing their entrepreneurial flair. The challenge has created fantastic team spirit whilst raising money for a really worthwhile cause. I am incredibly proud of everyone for achieving so much and for helping to make a real difference to the lives of the people Sense supports.”
