Support the Learning Disability Coalition

We need your help to get as many MPs as possible to sign our Early Day Motion. Less than 13 signatures are needed to take it into the top 10 most signed EDMs on the list of over 1,000!

By following this link you can email your MP with a request to sign the EDM. All you need is your name, address and postcode and the rest is done for you.

What is it all about?

Sense is a member charity of a campaign called the Learning Disability Coalition. The Coalition consists of ten charities who work together to make sure the government provides enough public money so that people with a learning disability have the same choices and chances as everyone else.

Sense and the Learning Disability Coalition have tabled something called an Early Day Motion (EDM) to support the campaign. An EDM is like a petition that only MPs can sign, and it is a great way of getting support for a campaign in parliament and raising awareness of an issue.

Our EDM draws attention to cuts to services for adults with a learning disability, as well as to our new statistics which show that the population of people with a learning disability in England is increasing even faster than expected. It calls for immediate action to ensure that these issues are addressed when the Government sets out its vision for the future of adult social care in the Spring.

We need lots of MPs to sign the EDM so that the Government really takes notice of our demands. So please follow the link and take action to help our crucial campaign at this critical moment.
