Sense Awards celebrate the achievements and excellence reached by deafbilnd individuals, Sense staff and teams throughout the organisation over the last year. We need you to tell us who you feel deserve an award.

Celebrity drummers play drums with deafblind people
To celebrate Deafblind Awareness Week (21 - 27 June), drummers Dave Rowntree of Blur and Steve White lad a drumming mini marathon in support of Sense with people who are deafblind.

Information Day on deafblindness
This event is for anybody who has an older relative / friend with hearing and sight loss and professionals who work with older people. It will be held in London on 25 June.

New school unit for deafblind children opens in Africa
Sense International has constructed a new deafblind unit at St Mark VII School for the Deaf in Bwanda, Uganda. The unit was officially opened by the British High Commissioner to Uganda, Martin Shearman on 11 June 2010.

TV presenter joins Sense's first fly-flshing trophy event
TV presenter Matthew Wright joined Sense at the inaugural Sense Fly Fishing Trophy event at Haywards Farm in Theale, Berkshire on 8 June. Prizes were donated by Orvis.
