Blind actress Kitty McGeever, who plays Lizzie Lakely in the soap opera Emmerdale, called upon runners to join her at the Sense Vision 5K race in Leeds when she was interviewed on BBC Look North.
Kitty, along with fellow actor Matthew Wolfdenden, are taking part in the Sense Vision 5K race, which is set to challenge the senses and raise money for deafblind children and adults. The race is being held at 11am on Sunday 28 June at Roundhay Park in Leeds.
Kitty, who has just joined the Emmerdale cast, said: “This is a fun family race that will give people an insight into some of the challenges faced by deafblind people and I am really looking forward to supporting Sense on the day.”
The day will be a great way for children, parents and friends to have fun and challenge their experiences of sight and hearing while helping Sense to support deafblind people. Anybody can take part and runners can choose to run blindfolded with a sighted guide for part of the way. Kids are encouraged to design their own blindfolds with prizes up for grabs.
