Every summer, we organise 25 holidays for 140 deafblind people, which take place all over England and Wales. Sense holidays enable holidaymakers to have fun in a supportive environment, gain new experiences and meet new people.
We are looking for people who can transport buses between 24 July until 29 August. The Sense Holidays Team make all the travel arrangements, provide directions, book train tickets and pay expenses such as food, drink and accommodation where required. We try to make it as straightforward as possible for any driver who very generously gives up their time to help us.
Contact the holidays team if you think you can help.
What needs doing?
Here are some of the journeys we will have to do over the summer with estimated times (minbuses are of course slower than cars so journeys do take longer!) - this is subject to change. If none of these dates or journeys work, but you think you might be able to do part of the journey or on a different day then let us know and we will see if we can work something out!
- Friday 24 July from Manchester to Blackpool (approx 2 hours)
- Friday 24 July from Northampton to Neatishead, Norfolk (approx 5 hours)
- Friday 31 July or Saturday 1st August from Poole, Dorset to Norwich (6 hrs) or Poole to London (3 1/2 hrs)
- Saturday 8 August from Skipton to Gloucestershire (approx 5 hours)
- Saturday 15 August from Hingham, Norfolk to Wiltshire (approx 5 hours)
- Friday 21 August from Wiltshire to Swadlincote, Derbyshire (approx 3 1/2 hours)
Some time between 1 August and 8 August we need to transport the bus from Pembrokeshire to Southampton.
