Deafblind people to tell their MPs what they want from social care
6 January 2012
In the spring, the Government will set out what changes it wants to make to adult social care in the future. This is the sort of change that happens once in a generation, so it is important that they get it right.
The Care and Support Alliance, representing over 50 organisations including Sense, is organising a lobby for Government to hear the voice of disabled people.
Hundreds of disabled people will come to London to talk to their MP on that day. Let’s make sure deafblind people are there to call for:
- Specialist services for deafblind people
- Mobility and communication needs to be met
- Adequate funding for specialist services
Help spread the word and encourage deafblind people and their families to take part. We will provide support including briefing and information, communication support for deafblind people and some travel costs. Ask deafblind people and families to get in touch so that we can send them more details and arrange any support they need.
