Take action for older deafblind people

Tuesday 1 October is the international day for older people

Sense is calling on professionals (in social services, health and the care sector) to take action on this day to identify deafblind older people and ensure they are referred to the social services sensory team.

The Joining it Up Action Pack

To help you plan, Sense has produced a pack to support individuals to take action. The pack includes:

• a list of suggested actions (large and small)
• support resources
• background information on deafblindness and older people.

There is something for everyone: Actions range from putting up a poster, finding out contact details for the local sensory team to asking for a speaker from the local sensory team or Sense.
