Your access experience of voting in the general election

At the last general election 68% of polling stations had one or more access barriers to disabled people.

Problems included polling stations without ramps, information in inaccessible formats and staff who were not trained to support disabled voters.

Sense believes that disabled people should be able to vote independently and in secret just like anyone else. That’s why we are supporting Scope’s Polls Apart campaign.

You can help open up elections to disabled people by sparing two minutes to fill in the Polls Apart survey when you have casted your vote.

For more information or for other ways to get involved see the Polls Apart website or contact Liz Ball by email.
