Sense launches direct payments information in British Sign Language
Sense has a new film about direct payments and purchasing your own support in British Sign Language for sign language users who are deaf and visually impaired or blind. The film can be viewed on this website and on DVD from the Sense Information Service. Transcripts in accessible text format are provided above the film on the website for people who can't watch, or follow the information in BSL.
Those working with deafblind people or with people who are both deaf and visually impaired can obtain the film on DVD and pass on to their clients.
More about the film
The film is a series of chapters which cover a range of issues including what direct payments are, who can get them, what deafblind people’s rights are, as well as tips about purchasing your own support and managing staff and associated paperwork.
Further information about direct payments
Revised versions of the Sense factsheets on direct payments, personal budgets and purchasing your own support are also available on this website and in hard copy from the Sense Information Service.
