The 13th Usher Study Group will take place just before the Acquired Deafblindness Network Conference. Both events will be based at the Hotel Hvide Hus in Denmark. The meeting will start at 12 noon on Monday 27 September with a Danish buffet lunch and will finish by 5 pm on Tuesday 28 September.
The Usher Study Group is of interest to professionals, people with Usher syndrome, their friends and families or anyone else who has an interest in Usher syndrome.
The exciting programme covers medical and psychiatric issues, communication, living with Usher, Usher families and talks from Usher people themselves. There will also be plenty of opportunities to socialise including a meal together at the Hotel Hvide Hus on the Monday evening.
Two well-known and respected speakers from the medical field will attend the meeting: Professor Bill Kimberling from Boys Town National Research Hospital, Omaha, USA and Professor Claes Möller from the Swedish Institute for Disability Research, Örebro, Sweden.
There will be a mixture of plenaries and workshops on a variety of topics.
