Richard Wilson

Richard WilsonLong time supporter Richard Wilson first became involved with Sense when he voiced a radio commercial for the charity which aired on BBC Radio 4.

Staff at Sense were thrilled when the award winning actor took time from his busy schedule in June 2007 to host the Annual Sense Awards. The awards honour excellence in both deafblind people and those who work alongside them.

Richard’s credits include One Foot In The Grave and Kingdom . He also recently starred in the hit West End political satire Whipping It Up in 2007.

Sense was delighted when Richard recently lent his support to Sense for the Fill in the Gaps booklet which is aimed at raising awareness of deafblindness in older people, helping them to leave full and active lives.

Richard said: “Please take action as part of Sense’s week of action to improve the lives of deafblind older people. Living with hearing and sight loss in later life can be a challenge, so it is incredibly important that professionals take action to identify deafblind older people and ensure they receive the support they need. This pack contains a range of suggested actions for professionals to take, so I believe that taking part in whatever way you can will really help to make a difference.”
