| "I have Usher Syndrome, but it is thought I have Type 3, but this is to be qualified when I take part in the Sense Usher Project. "I'm a keen chess player, I play for West Nottinghamshire Chess Club in League Division 5 at the moment. I also play in the Braille Chess Association's tournaments and have played in the England team once as a team member in 1995 but have represented my country individually for the disabled on numerous occasions. "I am learning to swim again as a back injury and frequent breathlessness have made this a problem which I want to resolve properly. "I like to take part in and listen to quizzes; I love a good mystery, detective or factual book; I love listening to all sports; I am a keen follower of current affairs, statistics and the law. "I regularly attend St Laurence Church but don't impress on people talk about religion where it's not wanted so don't be put off! "I like to keep up-to-date with Eastenders and Coronation Street but find this difficult when I'm away or sport takes precedence. "I enjoy very much 60's, 70's and 80's popular music - there are some types of music however I rarely listen to. "I am Secretary of the Breaston Deafblind Club, although I haven't worked properly since when I was made redundant in 2001-2. "I regularly send and receive email as a member of several egroups and surf the net and listen to audio radio programmes on a regular basis. "I love to socialise, like my pint of beer, play bingo twice a week. I travelled far and wide visiting: most of Western Europe including Cyprus, most of the Middle East, USA and Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Sri Lanka." |
