Penpals

If you're feeling isolated or just fancy getting to know someone, our penpals list will help. You can search for people and then contact them by email.

Security

This service is intended for electronic contact between people. However, please be careful and do not give out personal information such as your home address.

If you do decide to meet up with people you have contacted through this service, please take care, meet in a public place and if possible take a friend with you.

The penpals list are separated into different categories listed below.

  • CHARGE penpals These penpals have CHARGE. They are seeking penpals who also have CHARGE or are just looking to contact people, regardless of their disability.
  • Rubella penpals Our rubella penpals are seeking penpals with or without a disability for ongoing contact.
  • Usher penpals There are lots of Usher penpals, with Usher 1 or 2. They are often seeking contact with other Usher people, although some are happy to write to anyone.
  • Other deafblind penpals These people have both a sight and hearing impairment. They are seeking penpals with similar conditions or are happy to communicate with anyone.
  • Family penpals These penpals may be parents of deafblind children, partners of deafblind people or other relations. They may be seeking contact with deafblind people or other relatives.
  • Other penpals These penpals are not deafblind but are interested in being contacted by people who are deafblind or have Usher syndrome.
  • Join the penpal list Anyone who is deafblind, has Usher or is a relative of someone who is deafblind is welcome to join the penpal list. If you are not disabled but would like to contact a deafblind person, you can also complete the form.
