What we want

Walk with me, talk with me signpostThe UK and Welsh governments are separately reviewing how the social care systems in England and Wales work.

Social care support is vital to ensuring the wellbeing of deafblind people and to enable them to be part of their community. It is essential that the new system works for deafblind people of all ages.

This must include the ability to get out of the house, have a social life, lead a healthy lifestyle and make a meaningful contribution to society.

Deafblind people need support to get out of the house, travel and communicate with other people. Without this it is hard to live a healthy life and contribute to the community.

Deafblind people need assessment and services that recognise their specialist needs.

Providing this support early saves money by preventing people’s physical and mental health deteriorating.
